Stop Smoking Secret

After 50 years of trying I discovered a simple secret that allowed me to end smoking.

The simple secret for me!
I always said: I want a cigarette or I need a cigarette.
What I was really saying was "I need a hit of nicotine".
For 50 years a cigarette was how I got my nicotine hit. However since there are now many alternative ways of getting a hit of nicotine I really had no need for
cigarettes.
You probably know:
There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, cigarettes create more than 7,000 chemicals. At least 69 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are toxic. These are few:
-
Acetone—found in nail polish remover
-
Acetic acid—an ingredient in hair dye
-
Ammonia—a common household cleaner
-
Arsenic—used in rat poison
-
Benzene—found in rubber cement and gasoline
-
Butane—used in lighter fluid
-
Cadmium—active component in battery acid
-
Carbon monoxide—released in car exhaust fumes

-
Formaldehyde—embalming fluid
-
Hexamine—found in barbecue lighter fluid
-
Lead—used in batteries
-
Naphthalene—an ingredient in mothballs
-
Methanol—a main component in rocket fuel
-
Nicotine—used as an insecticide

Are you still telling yourself you want or need a cigarette.
Be more accurate. Tell yourself you want and need a nicotine hit.
It should lead you down a different and safer road.

Types of nicotine replacement therapy.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved 5 forms of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT):
-
Patch
-
Gum
-
Nasal spray
-
Inhalers
-
Lozenges
It is possible to get a nicotine hit by vaping but this is a strategy I do not recommend.
I chose nicotine gum. The patch releases a small amount of nicotine the whole time you wear it and reduces your need for nicotine somewhat. But I wanted a hit of nicotine while also putting something in my mouth. Gum worked for me. While cigarettes give you the hit in a couple of minutes, you have to wait up to 10 minutes for the hit with gum but I found I could do this.
These are my two choices to get the nicotine I crave. I now find the choice easy.

You are not addicted to cigarettes.
You are addicted to nicotine.

If you quit smoking a miracle will begin. Your lungs will start to heal themselves.
If you are successful following this strategy we would love to hear from you
